The Children’s and Youth Ministry here at Church of the Chimes is a vital and growing part of the church’s mission. In all our programs, we seek to help children and youth live out their faith in a complex and sometimes crazy world. We help them build a relationship with one another and most importantly with God.
Children’s Sunday Gathering
Our goal is to build a heart of faith and to allow children to be comfortable and in touch with God. We provide a time of learning where no one is judged and the kids get to be themselves. Our program is Bible based, sparks curiosity, engages conversation, is fun, has great crafts and leads children on their faith journey. We have relevant conversations with the children about Jesus and God so they can take this learning into their daily lives.
Ages Pre-School through 6th grade
Our BE BOLD Youth group is for 7th grade through high school and is an involved, positive and uplifting fellowship group for teens. In addition to a special time dedicated to this group on Friday evenings bi monthly, they also meet once per month for get-togethers. Events have included; laser tag, pool parties, bowling, movie night, etc. If you have any further questions about the next outing and meeting time please contact the church.
Our Church of the Chimes nursery is a safe and loving environment for newborn and children up to age 3yrs. Our nursery worker is pre-approved and screened to care for your child. The nursery is available during every church service. In addition, general child care is also provided for small group studies, upon request.
“Children are a gift from the lord; they are a reward from him.” Psalm 127:3
Each summer, Church of the Chimes hosts Vacation Bible School. The week is a proven blast for children Pre-K through 6th grade, with 7th grade through High School as councilors. VBS expand a child’s understanding of God and centers on an exciting theme each year teaching biblical principles to strengthen each child’s relationship with God. Each day is comprised of totally fun games, crafts, music, and dramatic interpretations of bible stories.
Community outreach projects expands a childs heart beyond their own family to their community and around the world. We have organized projects with Guide dogs of America, Shoes that Fit, hHbitat for Humanity, Heifer Project and many more!
Blessing Bags are our local community project we do each year to gather essential and comfort items for the homeless in our community.
Parents, if you are looking to give your children a fun night out and also receive a night out for yourself, Kids Night Out is a great opportunity to do so!
This program takes place in the summer and meets monthly for dinner, fun activities, games, movies, and entertainment planned for children ages 4 and up. As the kids are enjoying their night out, parents get a chance to have a night out for themselves! Kids Night Out is truly a fun time for the whole family.
We have many activities for our church youth and their friends. Shortly, we will be re-launching a Food For Thought children’s cooking class for ages 3 – 6th grade. During Lenten week, we have our annual Easter Egg Hunt, and a Lenten Pretzel night where kids and their families make pretzels and learn about the Easter story.
