International Day of the World’s Indigenous People
2026 Theme: “Honouring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being”
The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is celebrated annually to promote and protect the rights of the over 476 million Indigenous individuals living across 90 countries. The global event raises awareness of Indigenous cultures and their ongoing resilience.
On December 23, 1994, the United Nations General Assembly decided, in its resolution 49/214, that the International Day of the World’s Indigenous People shall be observed on August 9th every year. The date marks the first meeting, in 1982, of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations.
This year, due to 9 August falling on a Sunday, the International Day observance will take place online on Monday, August 10, 2026.

- We offer a Group Parent & Me lessons.
- We can split the duration of the lesson between kids but NOT the number of lessons.
