San Fernando Valley (SFV) CROP Hunger Walk – Church World Service

CROP Hunger Walks are community fundraising events sponsored by Church World Service, an international relief, development, and refugee resettlement agency. Money raised by CROP Hunger Walks nationwide is used to provide food, medical care, disaster relief, and self-help development for needy people around the world. We participate, Host and support annually.

Operation Christmas Child – Samaritan’s Purse

We support Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child (OCC) each year in November by packing 100 shoeboxes with small toys, small articles of clothing (socks, mittens, hats), school supplies, personal hygiene items and wrapped candy. The program’s mission is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Christmas Families – Children’s Bureau of Southern California

Every December our Board of Deacons works with The Children’s Bureau of Southern California to sponsor 9 needy families by providing them with clothes, toys, household items, basic necessities and food to help make their Christmas a time of joy and celebration.

Annual Gala
Our Community and World Service Board hosts a Gala, an annual fundraising dinner and auction event attended by members of the church, the preschool, local Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops, and members of the community in an effort to raise awareness and funds to donate to a community outreach project or organization.

Blessing Bags
Our Christian Education Board helps the homeless and hungry of the San Fernando Valley by preparing “Blessing Bags” that our Congregants then give to the people we meet on our streets daily who are in need. Each Blessing bag contains the following items packed and sealed in a gallon size zip lock bag:

  • Dessert  – cookie, jell-o or pudding cup

  • Toothbrush, tooth paste, mouthwash & floss
  • Special message from the Church of the Chimes

North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry (NHIFP)
